Farming Simulator 22: Improving Your Yield
Improving yield is a very important aspect of farming in FS22. Here’s what you need to know to get better at it.
Ways You Can Improve Your Yield
There’s a lot of variety when it comes to yield improvement in Farming Simulator 22. Following are the main ones you need to know about:
Plowing
Plowing is the process of removing roots from the ground. It’s helpful and necessary once some crops have been harvested.
Removing Weeds
Removing roots isn’t the only way to improve yield. You can also remove weeds from the field. Keep a watchful eye out for these on your farm and cut them out with a mechanical weeder or hoe immediately. You’ll need to switch between the two tools depending on what type of weed you’re trying to remove.
The reason why removing weeds early on is very important is because you’ll need expensive herbicides and sprayers to deal with them beyond a certain point. The herbicide also messes with your yield. It’s much better to get rid of them early on as it saves time and money.
Mulching
When there’s still some stubble left on the field after harvesting, you can use a mulcher to get rid of it before cultivating the field and gain improvements in your yield.
Liming
After every three harvests, you have to spread lime across the field. Farming Simulator 22’s HUD will inform you when it’s time for liming. It’s a simple process that helps with plant growth, which ultimately helps with yield improvement.
Fertilization
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, there is fertilizing. Twice every crop cycle, you can apply fertilizers to your field. There’s a variety of these fertilizers available and you can choose any that suits your budget and needs. It’s an essential part of farming and very helpful when it comes to improving your yield.
