Farming Simulator 22: Different Crop Types
There’s a lot of crops available in Farming Simulator 22, and it’s important to know how to manage each of them on your farm. That said, here’s everything that newer players should know about these crops.
Types of Crops in Farming Simulator 22
Following are the main types of crops available for players in FS22:
Grain Crops
Grain crops consist of options like canola, wheat, barley sorghum, oats, soybeans, and more of the sort. A lot of these can be harvested using the same grain header and harvester, which makes things easier and convenient for farmers.
Orchards and Vineyards
These are a bit different from the other options. They allow you to grow things like grapes and olives. To get started with this, you’ll have to build it through Farming Simulator 22’s Build Mode first. You’ll also be needing a lot of special equipment to take care of these, so keep that in mind.
Root Crops
Perhaps the most complicated out of all the options here are the root crops. Players need to plow the field each time before they can get rid of the roots and start planting after every cycle. They’ll also need special equipment. It’s also not possible to store them in silos. But, they can be stored on the ground in sheds. Root crops in FS22 mainly consist of sugar beets and potatoes.
Other Types of Crops
Other crops are very complicated to farm and require special equipment. They mainly consist of corn, sugarcane, cotton, and more of the sort. It can be quite expensive and tiresome to manage them, but it’s arguably worth it.
How to Farm Crops in Farming Simulator 22
This process varies depending on the specific crop in question. But generally speaking, the fundamentals are the same. You have to cultivate, lime, and fertilize the soil. Then you just plant the crops, get rid of the weeds, and harvest them when they’re ready. What you do with them after that is up to you!
